Shaping Wood

young man creating wood forms

Here a man is creating forms out of thin strips of wood. I honestly cannot remember what part of the wind and rain bridge, which they are making, this is going to be. From looking, I would guess this will be a decorative sign or paneling for one of the ends of the bridge.

Those who hear about Dong wood construction hear all about them not using nails. Well, if you know about that…you need to stop looking at this photo. It do not want to pop anybody’s bubble. Yes, almost all of the construction techniques are without nails, but man, they sure are handy every now and then, wouldn’t you say?

This photo was taken on the same day and same job as the one two days ago. Though not the main subject of the photo, here you can see the generations at work: the young man in the foreground, the elderly man overseeing affairs, and the head of little child watching his elders.
